Arches of Love at the Center for Image Renewal

Arches of Love, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, launched the 'Share The Glam Project' at the University of Maryland's Cancer Center, in their Center for Image Renewal department on August 21, 2012.

Arches of Love presented a three hour educational workshop to interested patients, nurses and doctors. The presentation included models with varying needs. All of the volunteer models received free prosthesis, and other products, courtesy of Blu Water Day Spa and Glam 2 Love.

The event was a huge success, and generously catered by the East Harbor Location of Whole Foods, who provided lunch and desserts for 100 people. We would like to acknowledge Carla and Erika from Blu Water Day Spa & Salon, who volunteered their time, and expertise to assist Julie in the application of the prosthesis.

Please take the time to view the gallery, which contains photos of the event, including the models. Also, check out our upcoming events section, and let us know if you would be interested in volunteering, or could make a donation to assist with the cost of the events.

BLU WATER DAY SPA & SALON AND ARCHES OF LOVE HOST ANNUAL CHARITY EVENT TO BENEFIT AUBREY CLARK – A 17 YEAR OLD BURN SURVIVOR

On Thursday, December 20th, 2012 Arches of Love together with Blu Water Day Spa & Salon and with the amazing collaboration of local businesses and friends, sponsored a fund raising event to support Aubrey Clark, a 17-year-old burn survivor.

Aubrey Clark was at a back-yard bonfire in December 2011. The gas can became a blowtorch as it was poured into the fire catching on Aubrey and causing burn injuries in 30% of her upper-body. Doctors said she would lose her fingers, ears, lips and eyelids. She’s had several reconstructing surgeries and is going under physical therapy.

Julie Nguyen, founder of Arches of Love, was so touched when she learned about Aubrey’s accident and her conditions. She thought Aubrey would be a perfect candidate for the Glam2Love prosthetic eyebrow wigs.

Julie’s generous heart wanted to do more than just giving Aubrey free eyebrow wigs so Julie and her team prepared a holiday fund-raising event which took place at Blu Water Day Spa & Salon. With the help of local businesses and caring friends, the event was a total success.

About $1000.00 in prizes were raffled among our guests as they enjoyed delightful food and beverages and great music. Arches of Love and everyone who participated in the making of this event will be for-ever grateful to all who assisted and contributed to its success.

Arches of Love was thrilled to help Aubrey Clark and her family!
